• Aim of Department

In modern society, photo images have taken on an important role as a means of information transmission and have come to have a profound impact on society and culture, owing to the quantitative expansion of photo, video and digital markets. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of society, this department trains and cultivates young professionals with excellent techniques, as well as humanities education necessary for creating original images and media.

 

• Education Policy

  • To research lesson methods and curriculum that can be linked complementarily within three pictorial areas: picture, video, and digital media.
  • To reinforce professional practical education through the establishment of computer subjects and the continuous expansion and upgrading of video, imaging and photo tools related to pictorial image creation.
  • To provide a practical, business-based education to be used for the development of creativity as well as practical skills relevant to the industrial field

 

• Specialization of Education

  1. Photo-related classes
    As the digital video industry is rapidly expanding, image-making education in the visual communication related departments has become an imperative element. Therefore, there is a need to cultivate young professionals with an educated understanding of both photography and imaging that keeps pace with our changing social environment. Thus, this department provides the technical and artistic opportunities that can extend the creative power of its students.
  2. Video-related subjects
    As the range of ideas that can be expressed with video can be extended into advertisement, broadcasting, science, industry, education, and application, etc, the aim of this curriculum is to develop young professionals for the 21st Century video sector. The goal is to provide an educational course with artistic and commercial focus that can satisfy modern trends.
  3. Digital media related subjects
    Our society is rapidly changing under the ubiquitous digital environment and it is expected that the online digital content market, which can distribute large amounts of multimedia content (such as photos, video, etc.), will continue to grow faster due to the increasing internet speeds. Along with following social trends, this department aims to increase students’ creative power and expressive capacity as well as foster the creation of inventive internet artwork.

• Licenses

  1. Photographer Certificate, Practical Skill Teacher
    Prerequisite subjects: Photo Room Work and Developing, Photographing Skills, Digital Photo Editing, introduction to Pedagogy and Methodology of Practical Skill Education.
  2. Photographic Engineer Certificate
    – Written examination: Basic theories on general items, photo device and photographing, photo materials, and phenomenon, etc.
    – Practical examination: Photographing, film developing process, print magnifying process, printing paper developing process, digital processing method.
  3. Digital media related subjects
